Eroski Lakua-Arriaga: supermarket with LEED Gold certification and 100% renewable energy Added by EkoPulseThe Eroski Lakua-Arriaga supermarket, in Portal de Foronda 48 (Vitoria-Gasteiz), is the most sustainable establishment of the cooperative's commercial network. Certified LEED Gold, it reduces energy consumption by 50% compared to a standard store and 100% of the energy it uses is renewable, generated in part by its own photovoltaic solar panels. It evaluates more than 80% of the waste generated, uses natural refrigerants, self-regulating LED lighting, 24/7 cold home monitoring, and its parking includes 12 charging points for electric vehicle (3 for people with reduced mobility) and bicycle parking.
