Household energy audits and efficient household appliances for households in energy poverty Added by EkoPulseWithin its axis of emissions compensation, Red Cross Bizkaia served 142 people in energy poverty in 2025, visited 5 homes to conduct an energy audit by reviewing their facilities and managed the purchase of energy efficient appliances, as well as delivering energy efficiency kits to families covered by the supply payment aid project.

Cleaning and characterizing waste in natural environments of Bizkaia (libera project) Added by EkoPulseIn 2025, the Bizkaia Red Cross carried out waste collection and analysis trips under the Libera project (ECOEMBES and SEO/BirdLife): La Arena beach (Muskiz), Gobelas river and Lamiako fields (Leioa), Derio snack bar, Mundaka ria (Gernika) and San Kristobal hermitage (Forua), expanding the activity and the environmental volunteer team to the Urdaibai area. More than 125 kg of nature garbage were collected with the participation of about 150 people; on World Environment Day, the collection at the Gobela River (Leioa) gathered 25 kg, 15 of them containers and other plastics.

Project +CO (MPENSA) 2: Reforestation with indigenous species in El Mazuco (Zalla) and biodiversity monitoring Added by EkoPulseAfter reforestation with native species of Mount El Mazuco (Zalla) as compensation for CO2 emissions, Red Cross Bizkaia maintains the area with more than 60 environmental volunteers: monitoring and replacement of seedlings, restoration of amphibian ponds, nest boxes and insect hotels as shelters for pollinators, planting an oasis of butterflies at Landabaso school, monitoring biodiversity and a talk on ecosystem services and green corridors in the kultur etxea de Zalla.
